The mid-year examination will be starting on Monday 20th May 2024 as per the timetables that were issued last week.
However, the Grade 7’s will be writing the English paper on Wednesday 15th May 2024, and the Grade 4’s will be writing English on Friday 17th May 2024. The Grade 8’s will be writing Islamic History on Thursday 16th May 2024.
On these days the learners will be writing in the morning and will follow the normal timetable for the rest of the day.
On Friday 17th May 2024, only the Grade 7-9 learners will be on a study break and do not have to come to school. The Grade 4 learners will be on a study break on Monday 20th May 2024.
Dismissal during exams (from Monday 20th May 2024)
- All learners report to school at normal school times (07:30).
- Grade 4-9 learners will be dismissed at 10:00.
- Grade 10-12 learners’ dismissal time depends on the duration of the paper (see timetable).
- Foundation Phase learners (Grade RR-3) will be dismissed at 12:00 from Monday to Thursday and normal time on Fridays.
Review of papers
Review of papers will take place every morning. Papers written in the last week of exams will be reviewed on 07th June 2024 at 07:30.
Dress code during exams
Learners must be attired in the full school uniform i.e. boys; grey trouser and blue shirt. No tracksuits. Girls; blue abaya and black burqa. Learners who do not adhere to school rules regarding the uniform will not be allowed to enter the exam rooms.
No cell phones or smart watches are allowed.
Absenteeism during exams
Only a doctor’s note will be accepted for absenteeism during the exams. If there is no doctor’s letter, a zero (0) will be awarded for the missed paper.
Quiz Night
Grade 7-9 learners will be participating in a quiz competition on Wednesday 15th May 2024, from Maghrib to Esha (18:00-19:30) in the school hall.
Parents are encouraged to attend.
School Fees
All outstanding school fees must be paid up to date by Monday 10th June 2024.
Reports
Reports for the mid-year exam will be issued on Thursday 13th June 2024. Reports can be collected from the form teachers from 08:00-09:00.
School closes for the second term vacation on 14th June 2024 and re-opens for the third term on 09th July 2024.
